Chrome Plating anodes are made up of Lead Tin Antimony Alloy.

Why Lead is used as an anode ?

Lead has high corrosion resistance,but in fact the lead anodes that are used are never made of pure lead. Chromic acid in the bath eats away at pure lead,when there is no current. Pure lead is also quite soft, does not hold its shape very well and sags under its own weight. This is why lead is alloyed with other metals in order to give it specific properties. Various amounts of antimony and tin are added to the lead depending upon the application.

  • Tin (Sn): Complies ASTM B339 -Grade “A” Tin. – (Imported Malaysia Smelting Corporation )
  • Lead (Pb): Complies with ASTM B29- Corroding Grade Lead. (HZL-Vedanta )
  • Antimony (Sb): Complies with ASTM B237 – Grade “B” Antimony
  • Anodes manufactured have uniform alloy composition and negligible segregation which is the most important factor in working cycle of anodes.
  • We manufacture anode with integrated EC grade copper hook fabricated according to bus bar shape in order to optimize current flow with a very
         good contact with Bus Bar / feeder.
  • Anodes are manufactured in an ISO 9001/QS 9000 certified facility and exceed all applicable industry specifications. They are made with copper
         hooks, the hooks can be plastisol coated or tinned.
